Surf Lessons For All Ages and Abilities

Kids, teens, young professionals, and retired individuals can all learn the wonderful recreational activity that is surfing. We are incredibly careful to keep kids safe in lessons, but they still learn how to surf and have an amazing time in lessons. You can also sign siblings or friends up for a group lesson with our instructors, and we have lots of experience keeping kids engaged and excited throughout the session.

Many adults come to us with prior experience, and we'll quickly assess your level and build on what you already know. But complete beginners are welcome too. We'll teach you everything you need to know about technique, how to practice on your own, and how long it may take for you to start barreling waves, selecting the right wave, and even incorporating aerial strategies.

Private Lessons and Surf Classes in Newport Beach

You can book a 1-on-1 lesson with a pro instructor, or bring a friend (s) for a group lesson. All lessons are two hours long, and our teacher-to-student ratio never exceeds 4:1 even in a group setting. If you want to bring a larger group for a team building activity, we will provide multiple instructors. We want to keep our eyes on every student, keep everybody safe, and provide as much personal attention as possible so that you can learn to surf quickly. In fact, most of our students are standing on a board during the first lesson!

We Serve the Surrounding Areas

While we do have a home base in Newport Beach, we serve students throughout San Diego and the Los Angeles area. Let us know where you live or where you are staying, and we can likely make a lesson time work at the beach closest to you. If your lesson is during a busy time, you may need to arrive early to allocate time for parking. You don't want to waste any of your lesson time. We also recommend that you arrive at the actual lesson location at least 15 minutes early so that we can fit you with a board or wetsuit right away.
