Surfing Lessons For All Skill Levels

We've taught students as young as four years old all the way through to retired folks. Anyone can learn to enjoy the water. If you have prior experience, we will build on what you already know -- and if you've never tried to surf before, we will start with the fundamentals of the sport. Our goal is to help you surf independently as soon as humanly possible. 

How Soon Will You Actually Surf?

Many of our students start standing on a board in the first lesson! Your attitude, willingness to learn, and availability to practice outside of your lessons has a lot to do with how quickly you gain confidence on the water. But don't worry, you'll be in the water right from day one. We don't have classroom hours or modules that aren't even in the ocean. In your first lesson, we would be happy to answer all of your questions about the usual surfing progression and timeline.

What To Expect in Your First Lesson

We recommend that you arrive at the beach at least 15 minutes early with sunscreen, a swimsuit, and a few other starter items that we will bring to your attention. We'll then get you fitted into a wetsuit and find a board that suits your surfing level and preference. You do not have to bring your own board and wetsuit to the first lesson. Many of our students prefer earlier time slots in the morning so as to avoid crowds, and if your lesson is during a busy time in the summer, you'll want to arrive earlier so you can park.

Private Lessons

Students are welcome to book a one-on-one surf lesson. This is desirable for many beginners who may lack confidence, and want hands-on teaching throughout the entire lesson. Your lesson will be two hours long, and we'll cover all of the fundamentals. If you are already an intermediate or advanced surfer, we will quickly assess your level and help take your skills to competition level if you so desire.

Surfing Classes For 2 or More Surfers

We can book two-hour surfing classes for 2, 3, 4, or more surfers, and our teacher-to-student ratio never exceeds 4:1. These options are ideal for friends, team building activities, siblings, and other groups. You will still receive lots of personalized attention from your instructor.

Do you want some cool shots of yourself in action? Ask about our video packages. We'll take professional GoPro footage of your barrel riding, transitioning from rail to rail, and executing perfect surfing technique. It's both fun and educational to go back and watch your surfing lesson after the fact.
